South Carolina State University (SCSU) seeks a strategic and innovative professional to serve as the Director of Annual Giving, Communications, and Capital Campaign Coordinator. The Director will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies to increase annual giving, enhance communications efforts, and manage capital campaign initiatives to support the university's fundraising goals and priorities.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, digital marketing, and other fundraising initiatives to increase donor participation and retention.
2. Manage a portfolio of annual giving donors and prospects, cultivating and stewarding relationships to secure financial support for university programs and initiatives.
3. Collaborate with university leadership, faculty, and staff to identify fundraising priorities and develop compelling case statements and campaign materials.
4. Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of capital campaign initiatives, including feasibility studies, goal setting, solicitation strategies, and donor recognition efforts.
5. Work closely with the Office of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement integrated communication strategies to engage donors and stakeholders, including print materials, email campaigns, social media, and website content.
6. Work with alumni affinity groups, volunteer groups, and other university stakeholders to engage their support in fundraising activities and campaigns.
7. Coordinate with advancement services staff to ensure accurate and timely gift processing, acknowledgment, and donor recognition.
8. Prepare regular reports and updates for university leadership on annual giving, communications, and the capital campaign progress.
9. Stay informed about best practices and trends in annual giving, communications, and capital campaigns in higher education and philanthropy.

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position: 

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position: 

1. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, annual giving, communications, or related field.
3. Demonstrated success in planning and implementing annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and communications strategies in a higher education or nonprofit setting.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and university stakeholders.
5. Excellent writing skills, with experience in crafting persuasive fundraising appeals, case statements, and campaign materials.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, with attention to detail and deadlines.
7. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, CRM systems, and digital marketing platforms.
8. Commitment to the mission and values of South Carolina State University.
